What is Babybel® doing for the environment?
Rest assured that protecting the environment is one of our company’s main concerns. Specialists are always working on improving the sustainability of our packaging.
Therefore, each component of Babybel®’s packaging has its own function and they’re all essential to safeguard the freshness of our cheese.
Babybel®’s wax coating forms a protective barrier around the cheese and functions as a crust in all respects.
The cellophane wrapper is essential for two reasons. On one hand, it serves to fully protect the cheese, preventing damage to the wax as a result of stacking or bumping. On the other hand, it prevents the wax from sticking when you take the cheese with you, which is essential for single servings.
As for the net, it holds the small cheeses together in one pack: along with plastic wrap, it is the most economical method.
